TRANSLUCENT FINISHES
MAHOGANY, BRONZE, DARK SMOKE AND BURNISHED STEEL –
provide a window to the metal beneath, allowing the full story to be told of how each piece was made. There will be a
darker appearance when applied over areas that are distressed by both heat and the work of the craftsman, reflecting the
temper, colors, scaling, hammering, and bending. On open areas of bar or sheet, such as a back plate, the finish is lighter
and deliberately uneven, with the depth of hue varying by the thickness of the applied material. |

Mahogany (-03)
A rich red-brown finish highlighting the unique forging marks created when the products are being made. This finish works well with traditional and contemporary designs. |

Bronze (-05) A lighter golden-brown finish that allows the distressed markings from the hand forging to show through. Bronze coordinates with many natural elements such as stone and wood. |

Dark Smoke (-07) An artfully created finish that mimics aged metal, the smoky gray-brown colors work well with many interiors and provides an authentic aged look. |

Burnished Steel (-08) A modern finish with its cooler gray tones, it works well with contemporary designs. |

OPAQUE FINISHES –
BLACK, NATURAL IRON AND SATIN STEEL –
are the traditional finish choices for coloring metal and protecting it from rusting and marring. Opaque finishes provide a full covering of the metal and do not provide the window to the metal beneath that the translucent finishes afford. The choice between opaque and translucent finishes is an individual preference. |

Black (-10) The smooth, solid black of the finish conceals the marks created during forging. |

Natural Iron (-20) A uniform texture of silver/pewter tones, this finish protects well against rust and marring. |

Satin Steel (-19) Perfect for customers working with stainless steel or brushed nickel appliances. The silver tone is uniform in its application to completely cover the metal of the fixture and conceal forging marks. |

OPAQUE FINISHES FORMULATED SPECIALLY FOR OUTDOOR APPLICATIONS –
Hubbardton Forge outdoor fixtures are made from aluminum rather than steel. Aluminum, when finished with their opaque powder-coating, provides the best possible protection from rust and corrosion. But unlike steel, there is little character to the surface of the aluminum. In response to this they have designed special opaque Mahogany, Bronze, Dark Smoke and Burnished Steel finishes that match their translucent counterparts in color and hue and create a look similar to the depth and interest of steel. |
