Design and Construction Details
Each motor mount and fan head knob is crafted from genuine marbleized Bakelite, combining aesthetic appeal with durability. The fan is equipped with a Decora-style 3-speed white wall switch for easy speed control. A 10-inch downrod is included as standard, with optional downrods of 5, 20, and 30 inches available to accommodate various ceiling heights (maximum 30 inches). Downrods are field-cuttable and non-threaded for flexible installation. The fan comes with a flat ceiling canopy and is not compatible with vaulted ceiling canopies.
Blade Options and Safety Features
The Bianca fan offers multiple blade options to suit different environments: metal blades with decorative metal guards, solid ecologically harvested Brazilian mahogany blades without guards, and metal blades with safety cages designed for low ceiling applications (minimum ceiling height of 7 feet in the US and 8.2 feet in Canada). Safety cages are available to ensure compliance with low clearance installations.
Additional Information
This fan is suitable for damp locations when finished with powder or clear coating. It is handmade by Matthews-Gerbar, ensuring craftsmanship quality rather than mass production. The fan heads do not oscillate automatically but can be manually pivoted to direct airflow as needed. The product carries a limited lifetime warranty, underscoring its durability and quality.
